Welcome to Alton

Alton is located at Mount Macedon, approximately 50 kilometres north west of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. The 26 acre hill station property includes a 10 acre botanical garden, a large Venetian-gothic house built in the 1870's and a small farm, all of which is being carefully restored by the owners, the Eshuys family.

On this website you will find information about visiting Alton, the history of the property, photos of the beautiful garden and house in all seasons, and detailed information about the garden, including a list of the trees growing at Alton. We will be soon offering group bookings for garden tours at Alton including gourmet morning tea and lunch.
